Can’t make any of the dates because I will be travelling overseas but want to provide my input if I may. I use the public transport allot but I also often use the car. This is because I have to catch the bus to Ferntree Gullly train station which. This is fine but the train from there takes another 50 minutes to get to Flinders street. That’s after I switch over at Richmond to catch a direct train. Reducing the travel time during the train stint will definitely reduce time spent on commuting and motivate me to use public transport more often.

I am unable to attend the workshops. I believe that building the Rowville Rail is a good idea – provided it is executed properly. It needs to be built underground, as it is high time that Melbourne caught up with the efficient public transport systems of other countries. I live next to Huntingdale road and having this new rail built above ground close to so many homes is unacceptable. Would you want to spend your days and nights listening to the bells and whistles of an iron monstrosity? We do not need more disruption, more chaos and more problems in our area. How many families will have to give up their peace and quiet? Ten? Twenty? Fifty? Currently, this area has a bike track and land that people use. It is our HOME. While I agree that commuters need better and more efficient options to get to their destinations, I do not condone the disruption that this will create to mine and many other people’s homes. Think deeper. Think harder. Figure out a way that this Rowville Rail can be created without cutting into people’s lives and changing the way they live forever.

Just build the thing and be done with it.
